More than 50 years ago, two brothers started a business and built their first home. James and John Breeden, the oldest and youngest of nine children, grew up during the Great Depression and wanted to build quality homes that families could afford. Joined by other family members, Breeden Homes was formed.
Their vision of building good quality, affordable homes carried over into neighborhood design, and soon Breeden was creating entire neighborhoods filled with homes where families could live, work, and play.
He’s the owner of our company. His father and uncle started the company more than 60 years ago. Although there were a brother, sister, and cousins involved in the business at one time, Rob has taken over the reins. He continues to work to help our company build quality homes and take good care of our customers.
Rob and his wife Susan happily carry’s on the family tradition of being big supporters of UO Ducks – between the track, football, and basketball programs they have a lot covered.
John is our construction manager. He supervises all subcontractors and Breeden employees directly involved in building your home. Once your home begins construction, you’ll have plenty of contact with John. He will also discuss and implement changes to your home, provide prices for upgrades or modifications to the plan, give updates on the construction progress, take you on the electrical walkthrough, and be the go-to guy for what’s happening on your job site. John is a graduate of the U of O’s school of architecture. He is a storehouse of construction and design knowledge. Look out for his quick wit and dry humor.
John not only builds beautiful homes -he’s also a drummer, Porsche enthusiast, and amateur photographer. He loves spending time remodeling side projects and bicycling.
If you wonder what will happen after you buy a Breeden home, we don’t leave you. Your home is covered by our personal home warranty for a year (in addition to our 10-Year Independent Warranty). Gary and his lovely wife love to travel together. He also enjoys golfing, taking care of his Nissan 350zx, and fishing.
What is the title he prefers? CPA , Chief Financial Officer, or VP? Whatever you want to call him, he’s been our steadfast manager of all things financial. If you are a buyer of one of our homes, you can bet that Troy has calculated, reviewed, and commented on each “Price-out” prepared for you.
Troy enjoys motocross, spending time with his kids and wife, riding on the dunes, spending time on the water with jetskis.
Don is our realtor and assists you in not only the buying process but in the building process. Don is a Realtor with Windermere Real Estate, but long before he joined that great organization, he was our in-house Realtor for more than a decade. Don knows the building process and the value of a new home better than almost anyone around. He is also laid back and will never pressure you, he understand this is a big decision and will provide guidance and support as you need and want.
“Besides being great people, they are great builders’.
In his free time Don loves to spend time his many children and grandchildren. He has also been known to head off for the river and enjoy catching a fish or two.
“If you purchase a house once every 32 years, as we have just done, and you return to buy from the builder of that first house in 1977, then we believe that delivers a very positive message about that builder. Breeden Homes built our first dream house in Eugene and they have constructed our second dream house in Junction City. For the company, from the sales and office personnel to the carpenters on the ground, we are deeply grateful for the workmanship, understanding, integrity and helpfulness we have experienced.”

“We love the house and it felt at home from the time we walked in, but there were a couple of things that we really wanted to have in our home. One was a fireplace and they really honored our request and our ideas and made it happen. It’s the over all feel of the design, the architectural design that gives us that feeling of warmth but at the same time that comfort of space. Opening the door and turning on the fireplace and chilling a little bit, it definitely feels like home.”
“This place River Heights is paradise, it really is.”
