More than 50 years ago, two brothers started a business and built their first home. James and John Breeden, the oldest and youngest of nine children, grew up during the Great Depression and wanted to build quality homes that families could afford. Joined by other family members, Breeden Homes was formed.
Their vision of building good quality, affordable homes carried over into neighborhood design, and soon Breeden was creating entire neighborhoods filled with homes where families could live, work, and play.
Rob Breeden
He’s the owner of our company. His father and uncle started the company more than 60 years ago. Although there were a brother, sister, and cousins involved in the business at one time, Rob has taken over the reins. He continues to work to help our company build quality homes and take good care of our customers.
Rob and his wife Susan happily carry on the family tradition of being big supporters of UO Ducks – between the track, football, and basketball programs they have a lot covered.
John Thompson
John is our construction manager. He supervises all subcontractors and Breeden employees directly involved in building your home. Once your home begins construction, you’ll have plenty of contact with John. He will also discuss and implement changes to your home, provide prices for upgrades or modifications to the plan, give updates on the construction progress, take you on the electrical walkthrough, and be the go-to guy for what’s happening on your job site. John is a graduate of the U of O’s school of architecture. He is a storehouse of construction and design knowledge. Look out for his quick wit and dry humor.
John not only builds beautiful homes -he’s also a drummer, Porsche enthusiast, and amateur photographer. He loves spending time remodeling side projects and bicycling.

Troy Mueller

Testimonials
“If you purchase a house once every 32 years, as we have just done, and you return to buy from the builder of that first house in 1977, then we believe that delivers a very positive message about that builder. Breeden Homes built our first dream house in Eugene, and they have constructed our second dream house in Junction City. For the company, from the sales and office personnel to the carpenters on the ground, we are deeply grateful for the workmanship, understanding, integrity and helpfulness we have experienced.”
Bob and Tia Rodman
“We love the house and it felt at home from the time we walked in, but there were a couple of things that we really wanted to have in our home. One was a fireplace, and they really honored our request and our ideas and made it happen. It’s the overall feel of the design, the architectural design that gives us that feeling of warmth but at the same time that comfort of space. Opening the door and turning on the fireplace and chilling a little bit, it definitely feels like home.”
Vonnie Mikkelson
“This place River Heights is paradise, it really is.”
